The ultimate tour of the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum. The USS Midway is one of San Diego’s most popular attractions with over 1 million visitors annually. When the USS Midway was built in 1945 it was the largest ship in the world with over 4,500 personnel onboard. She operated for 47 years, during which time she saw action in the Vietnam War and served as the Persian Gulf flagship in 1991’s Operation Desert Storm. Decommissioned in 1992, she is now a museum ship located in Downtown San Diego.
