Hawaii is starting to resume international tourism. Yesterday the Hawaii government announced they will be opening for quarantine-free travel from Japan starting Nov 6.

Travelers from Japan will need to get a COVID-19 test from one of 21 approved testing facilities in Japan.

The resumption of tourists from Japan will likely be slow at first because they will need to quarantine when they return to Japan.

In November about 10 flights to Hawaii are expected from Japan.

It’s worth noting that there is no reciprocal travel agreement for people from Hawaii to visit Japan as Japan is closed to travel from the USA (And most of the world)
