A review of the Sheraton Waikiki hotel in Waikiki, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. The Sheraton Waikiki is located in the center of Waikiki right behind the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, and is directly oceanfront. I really enjoyed the location of the Sheraton Waikiki because it is so central. I found the Sheraton Waikiki overall to be quite nice, the rooms were smallish, but very clean. The hotel definitely caters to Japanese guests as everything written in the hotel is in English and Japanese. My favorite part of the hotel was the Leahi Club Lounge for Gold/Platinum members. The views from the lounge were amazing… particularly Sunrise over Diamondhead. And at dinner, there was free wine which I pretty unusual for a domestic US lounge.
The one disappointing thing about the location though is that the beach sand in front of the hotel has been eroded away. It’s a pretty short walk to get to the sandy beach, but it’s just unfortunate that there isn’t a beach directly in front. The other disappointing thing was that the hotel is definitely showing its age. The rooms have been spruced up, but the balconies and other common areas could use some more renovations.
