On my recent trip to Japan I discovered a new trend, Otaku meets Heavy Metal. A new band that’s gaining popularity in Japan, BabyMetal, is a combination of a Heavy Metal Band fronted by teenage girls wearing cute, slightly gothic outfits. It’s a very interesting juxtaposition and in this video I share my thoughts on this new trend of Cute Heavy Metal music in Japan. As I was watching BabyMetal I found there was a related group — BandMaid that plays heavy metal wearing french maid outfits. It’s amazing the kind of musical groups Japan dreams up!
