The US/Canadian border has been effectively closed for 16 months. That all changes on Aug 9, when fully vaccinated citizens and residents of the US that live in the US will be allowed to travel to Canada. Canada has a list of approved vaccines which includes Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca and Johnson and Johnson. Note: The Chinese and Russian vaccines are NOT on this list. You have to be vaccinated to go… unless you’re under 12. Children under 12 accompanied a vaccinated parent are good to go. All travelers will also need to get a COVID-19 test with a negative result 72 hours before they go, and be subject to “random” on the spot tests at the port of entry to Canada. For the Non-US Citizens watching this and wondering “Hey… what about me?” Canada plans to open to more countries on September 7 provided the COVID-19 counts look good.
