Las Vegas Reopening Update August: Buffets, Masks, & More!

Published on July 31, 2021 by

What can you expect if you visit Las Vegas right now? An update on the latest conditions in Las Vegas including the current mask rules, what buffets are open & closed, what’s the gaming situation, transportation, new hotels (Including Resorts World), new restaurants, new & reopened shows, new & coming soon attractions, and I’ll share Las Vegas’ most recent sneaky fee.

As of Friday July 30, masks are required indoors again for everyone vaccinated or not. Good news… you don’t have to wear it outside.. So no more mask tan while you’re at the pool at least. I’m sure this means many people will be canceling their trips because they don’t want to wear masks all day in Vegas… but the good news for you if you’re still going is that hotel room rates will likely be cheaper!

Buffets that are open right now:
The Buffet at Bellagio.
Caesar’s Bacchanal Buffet.
Circus Circus Buffet.
Cosmopolitan’s Wicked Spoon.
Excalibur Buffet.
MGM Grand Buffet.
South Point Casino Garden Buffet.
The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas.

Upcoming Shows:
O has reopened at the Bellagio
Mystere at TI
Michael Jackson One at Mandalay Bay
And Blue Man Group at Luxor
The Beatles LOVE Cirque shoe reopens at the Mirage on Aug 26
Ka has still not announced it’s reopening

Fremont Street Experience has live entertainment every night… but their big free show is on Aug 21 — Steven Adler of Guns and Roses performs live.

The entire Guns and Roses band plays at Allegiant Stadium on Aug 21. The Raiders are also playing a preason game against the seahawks, and WWE hosts their “Summerslam” event.

The Strat has a new show called “iLuminate” that opens on Aug 26. Tickets are “cheap” at $49. They wear these illuminated suits that pulsate to music. Pretty sure I saw this at the Robot Restaurant!

Tickets are now on sale for the new Whitney Houston Hologram show at Harrahs.. The show itself opens in October.
